Jobs Spike for Middleware Devs with Spring Expertise PDF Print E-mail

Enterprise Java architects and devs concerned about a tightening economy could find solace in a report from SpringSource, creator of the open source Spring platform for building, running and managing enterprise Java apps. SpringSource execs say job listings specifying Spring experience now exceed those for Oracle WebLogic and IBM WebSphere posts.

“This metric clearly demonstrates the massive and growing adoption of Spring and the fact that Spring is the de facto standard in Java. We are excited to see the jobs that Spring is helping to create and the fact that Spring skills are now in greater demand than for any of the server platforms which run with Spring,” said Rod Johnson, CEO of SpringSource, in a statement. “In the current economic climate, we anticipate continued strong demand for the productivity benefits and cost reductions that Spring delivers.”

  • Cumulative downloads for Spring have surpassed the 5,000,000 worldwide
  • SpringSource has grown 250% year-over-year in quarterly bookings and has more than doubled revenues for the third consecutive year.
